Dr. Armour was born in Austin, Texas, but raised in Palatine, IL. She received a Bachelors degree from the University of Illinois in Animal Science and graduated with honors from University of Illinois College of Veterinary Medicine. While pursuing her undergraduate degree, Dr. Armour met her husband Todd. After graduation Dr. Armour practiced at clinics in Oak Park, Decatur and Bloomington. Following a number of years in practice, Dr. Armour took a sabbatical to have her four rambunctious children, Mitch, Lydia, Ava, and Grayson. Finally ready to work with wild things of the four-legged kind, Dr. Armour joined the ranks at Capitol Illini in early 2003. She enjoys internal medicine and soft tissue surgery. Dr. Armour also has a special interest in Ultrasonography and exotic animal medicine. Treating ferrets, hamsters, rats, rabbits, lizards, snakes, turtles and a variety of other reptiles, amphibians and small animals, she enjoys the variety these pet bring to the practice. She ultrasounds abdomens and is currently training in cardiology ultrasound too. Dr. Armour and her family own and live on a dairy farm in Carlinville. Their family occupies the expanse homestead with two dogs, two cats, two guinea pigs, a Severe Macaw and 280 Holstein cows. In her very limited free time, Dr. Armour enjoys spending time with her family, gardening, canning, traveling and watching her alma mater, the Fighting Illini. She was recently elected to her local school board and hopes to have a positive influence on children and educators.
